The beauty of the emerald Soca river

The Soca is a long river of 136 km that flows through western Slovenia and northeast Italy, is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt valleys in Europe, it springs from the limestone mountains in the western part of the northern Julian Alps and drops rapidly towards the sea. The river flows majestically along mountain meadows, through steep gorges and high mountains to Italy.

The river is famous for its clear emerald green water, so it is often called "Beauty Esmeralda." Is said to be one of the few rivers in the world that retain such a color throughout their length. The beautiful surroundings inspired Disney to shoot their films in 2008 Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian at this location.

For the tourist, Soca and the surrounding region offers plenty of adrenaline rushing activities like mountain biking, rafting, kayaking, paragliding, canyoning and much more.
